The Teaching Staff

Do you remember ever actually going inside the Staff Room? Did anyone other than the masters themselves ever venture inside that mysterious sanctuary on the first floor just by the staircase? It had two doors, one at either end, and they never seemed to open for more than a brief few seconds for fear of letting their secrets escape. When they did open you always seemed to be greeted with smoke and laughter and hearing ’Tony’ and ‘John’ instead of Mr. Bradley or Mr. Gale!

So, this section is where you’ll find all things 'Master'. The old websites lacked information on this important part of School life but this has now been rectified with a page dedicated to each master we have been in contact with and includes four interviews which you can listen to online.

John Abrook - Chemistry

Robert (Bob) Matthews - Engineering

Edward (Tony) Bradley - History

R A Mayo - Deputy Headmaster

Colin Brook

Reg Wincott - Woodwork

Martin Carr - Physical Education

Leo Walmsley - Art

Col. Richmond Coggan - French

Peter Woodward - Music

John C Kingsland CBE - Headmaster
